What’s up, soapy?
4/20 has come and gone, so by now, many of you have finally seen Super Troopers 2.
Here’s the truth: the fans have always been our secret ingredient. It’s not news to anyone that we get creamed by critics. The first Super Troopers scored a 35% on the Rotten Tomatoes Tomatometer... and a 90% Audience Score.
So, sure, it’s no surprise to us that things are shaking out the same way with Super Troopers 2. But in spite of all that, something amazing is happening right underneath the critics’ noses…
You guys are showing up. And from what we’ve seen, most of you are loving it. So much so that the movie industry has noticed and we’re on track to beat all their expectations.
Plus, some people DO get it: The New York Timesnamed us their Critic’s Pick for the weekend.
The bottom line...
To a lot of people - studios, for instance - numbers matter. We’ve been saying for a while now that our opening weekend will determine whether we get to keep making movies.
We have a Super Troopers 3. Yes, we have a Potfest. And Willie and Snoop and Cheech and Chong all want to do it. But things like Audience Scores and opening weekends matter.
So why do we bring it up?
Because, just like three years ago, you're the ones who are going to decide what happens next.

1. Tell your friends. Liked it? Great! Share the love. Tweet about it, get back in touch with your college roommate and tell him to see it, get together your office buddies.
2. See it again. A bunch of you have told us you went back to see ST2 more than once already, which is awesome. We write our movies to make each other laugh, and there are a lot of jokes in there that don't jump out the first time. See for yourself.
3. Write your own review. Don’t agree with the critics? Great! Go to Rotten Tomatoes and IMDb and rate and review the movie yourself. Your opinion matters more to us anyway, because we made this movie for you.
We want to keep making movies for you. We’re pretty sure that you want to keep seeing them. Let’s keep the party going and continue to share some laughs.
